‘Politics not allowed for Islami Bank staff’

Political affiliation of the employees of Islami Bank Limited will not be allowed, the newly-elected chairman of the bank Arastoo Khan said today.


The bank’s Managing director Md Abdul Hamid Miah echoed the same words while speaking to journalists after meeting Finance Minister AMA Muhith.

 

The chairman and managing director of IBL also said that other than that if the employees keep up their good work professionally then there’s no fear of losing jobs.

Recently changes were made to the posts of the bank's chairman, managing director, heads of various committees and the chief of the Islami Bank Foundation.

Newspaper reports said, the move was made to free the institution from Jamaat hold.

Recently bank said major changes were brought in the executive committee, audit committee and risk management committee, with Abdul Matin, Md Zillur Rahman and Md Abdul Mabud becoming the new chairmen of those committees respectively.

The bank's managing director may also be changed.

A director of the bank board, seeking anonymity, said Mohammad Abdul Mannan, the current MD, earlier submitted his resignation.
